He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Hoffman and Fern Galitz; his wife Phyllis J. Melchert; and his siblings, Phillip Hoffman and Phyllis Maltas.
He is survived by: his children, Rodney C. Hoffman (Barb A. Smith) of Evergreen, CO and Stacey J. Ramos (Rosendo) of Muscatine; and his grandchildren, Jason Dornbush of Muscatine, Justin Dornbush (Jennifer) of Nichols, Jacob Dornbush (Kelsie) of Muscatine and Katherine Harris of Muscatine. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
