She was predeceased by: her parents, Claus Weinbeck and Johannah Weinbeck (Jurgensen); her husband Allen Chekal; and her sisters, Muriel Peterson, Mardelle Ray, Valora Gehrls, Eleanor Psota and Joan Andrews.
She is survived by: her children, Barbara Bengtson (Gary) of Naperville, Alison Bell (Gordy), Marcia Chekal (Gary Verdon) of Hinsdale, Christine Meier (Randy) of Clinton, John Chekal (Eileen) of Omaha and Michael Chekal (Renee) of Glenwoods, Iowa; her grandchildren, Matthew, Angie, Christin, Missy, Hannah, Madeline, Ellen, Katie, Jessica, Jacob, Laura, Christopher and Alex; and her great grandchildren, Alison, Sarah, Lauren, Connor, Meghan, Cecilia, Lucy and Betsy. She is also survived by her husband, children and her grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clinton or to the Salvation Army.
