He is survived by: his wife Kathy Newman of Clear Lake; his daughter Shannon Heflin (Tony) of Clear Lake; his grandchildren, Adam, Allison and Alexa Heflin; and his siblings, Marj Grell of Loveland, CO, Donna Smith of Waukee, Ed Newman (Tracy) of Humboldt and Rich Nonweiler of Clear Lake. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
