He was predeceased by: his parents, Reuben Sr. Gottfried and Susan Gottfried (Gummert); his sister Elmina McLaughlin; and his sister-in-law Jan Buchanan. He is survived by: his siblings, Jane Ramon (Al), Edward Buchanan and Joyce Hanson (Mike); his nieces and nephews, Laurie Buchanan (Dan Bolz), Vino Ramon (Mary), Julie Grell (Doug), Jeremy Buchanan (Krista Perez), Ryan Buchanan (Cari) and Tami Young (Dan); his aunts, Emma Richards, Fernie Mull and Edith Pothast; and his close friend Michelle. He is also survived by ten great- nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p. m. Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at One Vision, 1200 N 9th St W., Clear Lake, with Pastor Scott Sokol and Dennis Ganz officiating, where proper social distancing will be enforced. lnurnment will be at 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown.
