It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Merlyn D. Helm of Clear Lake, Iowa, who passed away on December 15, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, George Helm and Brunette Helm (Jacobson); and his siblings, Harlan Helm and Joyce Tovar. He is survived by: his siblings, Virgil Helm, Russell Helm (Marilyn) and Lois Sonius of Crystal Lake.

Per state mandate, masks will be required and social distancing will be enforced.

Memorials may be directed to the Crystal Lake Township Cemetery fund.

“My deepest sympathy to Nancy and the family of Murly. I certainly do miss his smiling face and his great conversations. I believe that he was the one who had lived the longest in his Clear Lake condo. In fact, I remember Murly telling me that the building was still being constructed when he moved in in 1980.!! We shared wonderful times over meals at the Half Moon Inn and The Other Place. I miss the phone calls we had and stopping in for visits with Murly. Godspeed, Dave Spilman”
