She was predeceased by: her parents, William August and Wilhelmine "Minnie" Rosalinde Hoeft (Jante); her husband W. H. Schlichting; her sister Maxine Johnson (Vincent); her great grandchildren, John Baumann and Zach Witham; her daughters-in-law, Roberta Schlichting and Sandi Schlichting; her nephew Chris Johnson; and her grandson-in-law Matt Baumann.
She is survived by: her children, Ron Schlichting of Clear Lake, Duane Schlichting (Debra) of Clear Lake, Jan Schlichting of El Mirage, AZ and Linda Schlichting of Clear Lake; and her grandchildren, Tara Schlichting, Teresa Morio (Tyson), Casey Schlichting (Teresa), Shannon Quigley, Sawyer Mishak, Derek Goll (Stephanie) and Deirdre Witham. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; as well as nephews, a niece and many extended family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 9:30 AM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church (112 N 4th St, Clear Lake, IA 50428).
Memorials may be directed to the family to be given in Marcele's name.
