He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Taylor and Arlene Taylor (Terrell); and his wife Leona Meyer. He is survived by: his children, John Taylor and Wendy Rindels (Ron); his grandsons, Ben Hislop (Alicea Cruce) of Cedar Falls, IA and Matt Hislop (Katya Lauer); his stepgrandchildren, Chelsea Kepler (Adam) of Colorado Springs, CO and Mallory Hove (Adam); his great grandchild Ava Hislop; and his sisters, Gilberta Taylor of Clear Lake, IA and Sue Taylor. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
