He was predeceased by: his former wife Virginia Burt of Ottumwa; his parents, Henry and Alta; his son Joseph; and his brother Gale.
He is survived by: his wife Anne; his sons, John (Janet Lovell), Steve Goranson (Marcia Jensen), Tom (Jan Lovell), Dan Goranson (Kimberly Darling) and Jim (Janis Lovell); and also, Travis, Corie Klein, Maura Klein, Brandon Sturgill, Emily Klein, Wes Peetz, Sara Goranson, Nick Schulz, Jenessa Jensen, Drew Coursin, Emily Goranson, Niki Heber, Paul, Kim Goranson, Tim, Melissa Goranson, Katie, Ross Stedman, Beckie, Jacy Dillahunty, Chris and Morgan Lovell. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
Due to Covid 19 considerations, the family is holding a private service on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 310 1st Ave. N., Clear Lake, with Rev. David Peterson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Clear Lake Public Library.
