He was predeceased by: his parents, Scott Wagler and Ruth Wagler (Dodd); and his brother Scott Wagler. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Guinn; his children, Julie McGregor (Mark) of Polo, MO, Jane Barkema (Brian) of Clear Lake and Christian Wagler (Amy) of Clear Lake; his grandchildren, Joshua Speer (Dawn), Melissa Ketch (Kelly), Jennifer Speer, Michelle Cummins (Travis), Tabitha Weiner (Jesse), Nicholas Wagler (Dena Tatro), Brieanna Wagler (Josh Phillips) and Addison Wagler; and his siblings, Marsha Jarrett of Des Moines and Richard Wagler (Lisa) of Des Moines. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, numerous extended family and cherished friends.

In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the Gene Wagler Memorial Scholarship to continue his love and commitment to students at Clear Lake Schools.
