She was predeceased by: her parents, Benedict Dunn and Dora Dunn (McCormick); her brother Wayne Dunn; her former husband Richard "Swede" Nelson; and her granddaughter Whitney Nelson.
She is survived by: her husband Richard Forbes of Clear Lake; her children, Wayne Nelson (Ursula) of Clearwater, FL, Barbara Cox (Michael) of Ames, IA, Richard Nelson (Joyce) of Manhattan, KS, Jacqueline Nelson of Coralville, IA and William Nelson of Iowa City, IA; her stepchildren, John Forbes (Cynthia) of Urbandale, IA, Brian Forbes (Kate) of Las Vegas, NV, Monica Forbes of Clarion, IA and Mark Forbes (Karen) of Tulsa, OK; her stepgrandchildren, Sasha Hoppenworth, Jennifer Laurienzo (Scott), Daniel Cox, Richard E. Nelson (Christina), Cherie Nelson Senie (Evan), Aislin Neufeldt, Adam Forbes, Meredith Swanson (James), Lauren Meyer (Doug), Grant Forbes, Spencer Forbes and Claire Forbes; and also, Leia, Alissa, Ellie, Michael, Megan, Richard T. "Theo", Nora, Logan, Kennedy and Jackson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (1001 9th Ave S, Clear Lake, IA 50428). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A prayer will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (204 S Jackson Ave, Eagle Grove, IA 50533).
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Beverly to the Richard (Swede) and Beverly Nelson Memorial Scholarship at Iowa State University, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, or the University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children's Hospital in care of: Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 310 1st Avenue North, Clear Lake.
