She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey Wood and Blanche Wood (Sission); her husband Dr. Sterling Barber; and her siblings, Katherine Laskowski, Dale Wood and Walter "Wayne".

She is survived by: her children, Cynthia Jean Hanse (Bob) of Fort Dodge, Lawrence James Barber of Waterloo and Brian Wood Barber of Clear Lake; and her sisters, Pauline Rumeliote of Mason City and Barbara Davis of Coeur. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
