He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jane Girkin; his sons, Rodney Meints (Lisa) of Belmond and Darin Meints (Angelena) of Meservey; his stepchildren, Dianna Arndt, Valerie Mead (Randy), Waukee, Rana Cross (Mark), Tami Mack (Fred), Andy Girkin (Jenny), Urbandale, Kevin Girkin (Brenda) and Cedar Falls; his grandchildren, Austin Meints (Wendy), Taylor, Nick Meints, Merissa Wagner (BJ), Jess Meints and Stephanie Fournier (Justin); his sister Pam Olson (Steve); and his half-sister Sharon Modderman (Roger) of Belmond. He is also survived by 14 step grandchildren, and 1 great grandson.
