She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry and Alta Ahlfs (Steenhard); her husband Clement Malek; her daughter-in-law Laurie Malek; and her sisters, Anna Tjarks and Erma Gettis.
She is survived by: her children, Joyce Mattes (Ed) of Kalona, Dave Malek (Sheila) of Mason City, Ruth McCullough (Rog) of Fort Dodge, Gene Malek (Sue) of Mason City, Jerry Malek (Marian) of Galesburg, IL, Steve Malek (Barb) of Mason City, Marcia Quisling (Craig) of Forest City, Mary Lee (Jon) of Clear Lake and Don Malek (Jacklyn) of Garner; and her sister-in-law Theresa Suby of Clear Lake. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren;57 great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren.
