She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude E. Hinman and Edith Hinman (Fonda); her husband Vern Wallace Poppen; her grandson Christopher Poppen; and her siblings, Charles Hinman, Dorothea, Alice Gadd and Grace Poulson.
She is survived by: her children, Development, Gary Poppen (Ginny) of Reinbeck, Iowa and Linda Awe (Dennis) of Algona, Iowa; her grandchildren, David Poppen (Kami), Dan Poppen (Lana) and Laura Groeneweg (Jonathan); and her great grandchildren, Olivia Poppen, Alexandra Poppen, Isabella Poppen, Samuel Poppen, Levi Groeneweg and Simon Groeneweg.
In leu of flowers any memorials may be directed to the St. John Lutheran Church Education Program.
