He is survived by: his wife Cherrie Phillips of Clarksville, Iowa; his children, Heather Saunders (Jay) of Ocean View, FL, Heidi Santiago of Pensacola, FL and Justin Ruch (Dena) of Des Moines, IA; his stepchildren, Jodie Chapman of Allison, IA, John Phillips of Shreveport, LA, Kevin Phillips (Crystal) of Bloomington, WI and Holly Dittmer (Nathan) of Denver, IA; and his siblings, Jack Ruch (Marge) of Fish Haven, ID and Tami Fischer (Ken) of McKinney, TX.. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.
