He was predeceased by: his parents, Effie Kleinschmidt (Rewerts) and Eldon Kleinschmidt; and his siblings, Virginia, Bill and Dean.
He is survived by: his wife Maggie; his children, Kathy Meyer (Bob) of Clarksville, Mary Schwennen (John) of Parkersburg, Gale Michels (Joe) of Waukee, Tom Kleinschmidt (Chris) of Waterloo and Jerry Kleinschmidt (Jill) of Johnston; and his sister-in-law Sharol Kleinschmidt of Cedar City, Utah. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarksville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center or Care Initiatives Hospice.
