She is survived by: her former spouse Russell Behrends; her husband Kenneth Smith; her children, Melanie Nieman (Mike) of Janesville, Kelly Behrends of Clarksville, Gary Behrends of Austin and Richard Behrends of Charleston; and her close friend John McEnany of New Hartford, Iowa. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters.
