He was predeceased by: his parents, R. William Merner and Geraldine B. Merner (Bender); and his sister Marci Merner. He is survived by: his daughters, Megan Jensen (Oliver) of Ames and Leah Merner of Wegberg, Germany; and his stepmother Shirley Merner of Cedar Falls.
