He was predeceased by: his parents, Lisle and Edith Knight (Gould); his wife Janice Peterson; his daughter Kristi; his daughter-in-law Emily; his granddaughter Amanda; and his siblings, Marian, Eleanor, Harold and William.

He is survived by: his sons, Scott Knight of Sheldon and Bradley Knight (Lori) of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, April Knight, Katie Knight, Charles Knight, Kristofer Knight and Aaron Knight; his sister Linda Birchard of Spencer; and his close friend Judy Russell of Clarion. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
