He was predeceased by: his parents, Niels Johansen and Ione Johansen (DeVol); and his brother Philip of Omaha. He is survived by: his wife Joyce (Vance) of Clarinda, IA; his sons, Jeffrey (Jodee) of St. Petersburg, FL., Christian (Gabriele) of Greenwood, IN, Erik (Missy) of Urbandale, IA and Nicholas (Lisa) of Essex, IA; and his sister Shirley Walker of Spencer, AI. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 2 great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews and beloved pets.
