He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Geer and Elma Geer (Howard); his wife Betty Geer; his grandson Adam Smith; his son-in-law Frank Miller; and his brother-in-law Donald Hunter.
He is survived by: his daughters, Carolyn Smith (Wesley) of Sioux City, Iowa, Sharon Jansen (Richard) of Tampa, FL, Jeannie Bruning (Terry) of Red Oak, IA and Laurie Miller of Kansas City, KS; his grandchildren, Steven Smith of Sioux City, IA, Matthew Smith (Laura) of Sioux City, IA, Michelle Grinnell of Tampa, FL, Jim Jansen (Joanna) of Apollo Beach, FL, John Jansen of Tampa, FL, William Bruning (Brittany) of Clarinda, IA, Brandon Bruning (Nicole) of Villisca, IA, Thad Bruning (Bailey) of Council Bluffs, IA, Aubrey Sherrfius (Chase) of Kansas City, KS and Autumn Draper of Kansas City, MO; his great grandchildren, Devin, Lilly Grinnell, Jake, Erik Jansen, Oliver, Myah, Kaylee, Raelyn Bruning, Daniel Smith, Rogan and Derek Sherrfius; and his sisters-in-law, Beverly Hunter of Charter Oak, IA and Geraldine Jamison (Dale) of Decatur, TX. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
