With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Cary Arlo Sandersfeld of Clarence, Iowa, born in Sheldon, Iowa, who passed away on January 6, 2025 at the age of 60. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Clarence Arlo Sandersfeld; his stepparents, Beth Sandersfeld and Arlo W. Newman; his grandparents, Herman, Hattie Schmidt, Clarence, Helen Sandersfeld, Ray and Vernetta Newman; and his brother Brett Sandersfeld.
He is survived by: his mother Bonnie Jean Newman (Schmidt) of Spencer, IA; his siblings, Brian Sandersfeld of Montgomery, IA, Kevin Sandersfeld (Jessie) of Mt Pleasant, IA and Denise Seivert of Hartley, IA; his stepsiblings, Duane Newman (Connie) of Milford, IA, Roger Newman (Cheryl) of Mountain Home, AR, Donna Schmidt (VerDon) of Everly, IA and Kay Suhr (Todd) of Grimes, IA; his nieces and nephews, Asa Sandersfeld, Ethan Sandersfeld (Brianne Croninger), Justyn Sandersfeld (Marissa), Blake Seivert (Kim), Jayden Keck, Travis Suhr (Sara Wright), Brooke Peters (Nathan), Madison Keck, Jordyn Sandersfeld, Crystal Ramsey (Danny Johnson), Darci Domerese (Jared) and Nicole McCall (Jess); his aunt Betty Pahl of Milford, IA; and his uncle Russ Holst of May City, IA. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hartley Funeral Home (830 2nd St NE, Hartley, IA 51346). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Hartley Funeral Home Chapel (830 2nd St NE, Hartley, IA 51346). A burial was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at the Harrison Township Cemetery.
