He was predeceased by: his wife Carole Brandenburg; his parents, John Brandenburg and Thelma Brandenburg (Ross); his daughter Sara Brandenburg; his son-in-law Lee May; his siblings, Judy Brandenburg, Christine Brandenburg and Robert Brandenburg; his brother-in-law Robert Tappe; and his former wife Nancy Brandenburg-Wright.
He is survived by: his daughter Sandy May of Jefferson; and his sisters, Linda "Bee" Tappe of Johnston, Jolene Ostbloom (Norm) of Des Moines and Julie Beaver (Dale) of Ankeny. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
