He is survived by: his wife Lee Ann of Dysart; his children, Rick Kemp (Sam) of Cincinnati, Michelle "Tuffy" Allen (Roger) of Reinbeck and Heather Schrader (Andrew) of Urbandale; his siblings, Ed Kemp (Nancy), Pete Kemp (Jan), Mary Jo Hartley (Dean), Carole Levendusky (Clair), Kathy Corcoran (Don), Pat Kayser (Jack), Bobbie Mason (Dick) and Annette Kemp (Larry); his grandchildren, Ainsley, Nicole and Grady; his great grandchild Emma; and his uncle Don Kemp. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
