She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Heller and Laura Heller (Besmer); her husband Elmer Birky; her son Lane Birky; her siblings, Lucille Luedke, Melvern Heller and Merlin Heller; her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Farenholz and Caroline Anderson (George); her parents-in-law, Joe and Phoebe Birky; and her brothers-in-law, Marcellous Luedke, Frank Christensen, Jim Flowers, Marv Kindschuh and David English.
She is survived by: her daughter Sandra Martin (Brian) of Storm Lake, Iowa; her daughter-in-law Erika Birky of Calimesa, California; her grandchildren, AJ, Sam, Bella, Alana and Michael; and her siblings, Marrion Christensen, LaVina Flowers, Betty Lou Lines (Richard), Beverly Kindschuh, Ruth English (Duane), Janet English and Karen Young (Steve). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Renata's name to Trinity Lutheran Church.
