Joan Ballantyne Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joan Ballantyne of Cherokee, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 12, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Stief and Erma Stief (Roggow); her husband Keith Ballantyne; and her brother Maynard Stief (Donna). She is survived by: her brother Mahlon Stief (Linda) of Cherokee, Iowa; her nephews, Michael Stief (Tonya), Pat Stief (Deb), Mark Stief (Kathy), Marlin Stief (Amy), Rick Stickler, Tim Stief (Alyssa) and John Ballantyne (Riatta); and her niece Tiffany Willett (Darren). She is also survived by several great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Boothby Funeral Home (207 E Main St, Cherokee, IA 51012). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (230 N Roosevelt Ave, Cherokee, IA 51012).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Preschool or Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee.
