He is survived by: his wife Grace Swanson of Sutherland, Iowa; his children, Greg Swanson (Julie) of Sutherland, Kory Swanson (Abby Zupp) of Washta, Iowa, Heather Swanson of Sutherland and Jill Birkland (Ryan) of Clive, Iowa; his grandchildren, Luke, Matthew, Emily Swanson, Elliot, Lily, Lynnea Birkland and Bryson Rupp; his friend Paisley Johnson; his brothers, Norman Swanson (Mary) of Primghar and Lyle Swanson (Donna) of Elgin, Illinois; and his brothers-in-law, Dan Johnson (Sharon) of Marcus, Tim Johnson (Deb) of Cherokee and Mark Johnson (Karen) of Cleghorn, Iowa. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; also many family and friends.
