It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eugene E. Weiland of Cherokee, Iowa, who passed away on October 18, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Weiland and Lois Weiland (Tarrell); his wife Bertha "Teeny" Jenkins Weiland; his daughter Sherry Moritz; his brothers, Ronny Weiland, Darrell Weiland and Wayne Weiland; and his parents-in-law, Harold and Darlene Jenkins.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kim Cronin (Mark) of Marcus and Shelly Cronin (Kelly) of Remsen, Iowa; his son-in-law Terry Moritz of Marcus, Iowa; his great great grandchildren, Anthony Cronin (Deb) and Aarron Cronin (Shavon); his brother Jerry Weiland of Bloomfield, Connecticut; his siblings-in-law, Diane Weiland of Hinton, Kathy Weiland, Viola Byerly of Cherokee, Alyce Hirschman of Cherokee, Carol Peterson of Culpeper, Virginia and Sam Jenkins of Correctionville, Iowa; and also, Devin, Matthew, Abram, Job, Francis, Arlo, James, Rosie, Steven Cronin, Kyle Cronin, Tanner Cronin (Rebecka Warner), Brecken, Makenzie Cronin, Kennedy Cronin, Corey Moritz (Becca), Kallie, Kora, Braxton, Brittany Thelen (Blayne), Jasper, Emmett, Brooke Moritz (Matt Ankenman), Cohen, Myles, Corbin, Mallory, Kaysen and Klayten. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 19, great grandchildren.
