With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Darlene R. Patten of Cherokee, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Pearl Lynn (P. L.) and Myrtle Vannatta (Gleason); her siblings, Luverne, Robert (Dolores Vannatta), Clifford (Marion Vannatta), Darrel, Delores Vannatta and Beverly; her siblings-in-law, Harold Heschke, Tom, Joyce Patten, Neil, Clinton Hoferman and Virginia Patten; and her granddaughter-in-law Amy Schultz.

She is survived by: her significant other Kenneth A. Patten of Alta, IA.; her children, Margaret (Dennis Schultz) and Mark Patten of Sioux Rapids, IA; her grandson Eric Schultz of Seward, NE; her son Mason; her granddaughter Megan (Billy Prescott); her children, Brody and Quinn; her grandson Dirk; her children, Kimberly Schultz of Pender, NE, Avery, Emery and Henry; and her siblings-in-law, Linda Vannatta of Cherokee, IA, Ruth Hoferman of Coon Rapids, MN and Doug Patten of Omaha, NE. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Blood donation and voting was very important to her.
