With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Alan Joseph Matthew Kellen Sr. of Cherokee, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 29, 2024 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parent Harriet Kellen; and his sister Ann Whitehead. He is survived by: his wife Linda Kellen of Cherokee, IA; his children, Denise Trammel of McKinney, TX, Jessy Kellen of Storm Lake, IA, Michael Schmidt of Sioux City, IA, Alan Kellen Jr. of Cherokee, IA, Joey Kellen of Cherokee, IA and Theresa Martin (Justin) of St. Cloud, MN; and his grandchildren, Jamison, Jackson, Charlese and Jonas. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (709 W Cedar St, Cherokee, IA 51012). A Mass was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mount Calvary Cemetery (1498 520th St, Cherokee, IA 51012).
