He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Slaven and Bernice Slaven (Atwood); and his sister Brenda Thorn. He is survived by: his wife Sally Balvin; his daughters, Shae Slaven, Stephanie Slaven, Stacey and Shelby Slaven (Jacob Collison); and his niece Courtney Thorn.
