She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Kalinay and Lucille Kalinay (Plesek); her husband Leonard Balvin of Joseph's Catholic Church; her sons, Steve and Joe; her son-in-law Steve Slaven; her grandchildren, Tianna Purk, Joseph Jr. Balvin and Erik Upah; and her siblings, Raymond "Bud", Larry, Roger Kalinay and Evelyn Ryan.
She is survived by: her children, Larry (Janet) of Chelsea, Randy (Diane) of Hartwick, Jerry (Val) of Chelsea, Dan (Denise) of Belle Plaine, Jason (Kelly) of Chelsea, Aaron (Melissa) of Chelsea, Ellen Upah (Tom) of Chelsea, Jamie Kupka (Paul) of Chelsea and Sally Slaven of Chelsea; her daughter-in-law Colleen Balvin of Elberon; her sister Verna Brush (Warren); and her sister-in-law Jo Balvin. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren.
