He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernie Wessel and Verna Wessel (Michaelsen); his son Steven Wessel; his grandsons, Matthew Evers and Douglas Steven Wessel; his brother Douglas Rylan; and his parents-in-law, Ed and Lena Goslar (Rosburg).
He is survived by: his children, Carol (Butch) of Charter Oak, Randy of Berne and Gregg of Audubon; his wife Irma Wessel of Ricketts; his daughter Jan of Ricketts; his daughter-in-law Pat Wessel of Ute; and his brother Richard Wessel (Arlene) of Denison. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter.
