She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Michael Backer; her children, Dana Williams (Jeff) and Jana Kraus (Kevin); her son-in-law Brad LaBarge; her grandchildren, Megan O'Brien (Logan), Shannon Venz (Ryan), Kelli Marcum (Kyle), Mason Williams (Savanna), Bailey Jacobson (Alex) and Brayden Kraus; her great grandchildren, Devony, Drake O'Brien, Kennedy, Connor Marcum, Kerrigan and Harlow Venz; her daughter Kayla LaBarge; her sister Lynne Schendel; and her parents, Alden Schendel and Mervyl Schendel (Mellon). She was also cherished by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, April 10th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home (1205 S Main St, Charles City, IA 50616). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the First Congregational Church (502 N Jackson St, Charles City, IA 50616).
