He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Calvert Sr. and Eva Hatfield Calvert; his wife Margaret Sweet of Charles City; his children, Kristin Gay Calvert and William Jay Calvert (Bill); and his siblings, Russell, Harlan, Cecil Calvert, Marguerite Weaver, Romaine Calvert, Treva Smith, Wilma Dunlop, Nadine Bennett and Maxine Dunlop.
He is survived by: his son Christopher Paul Calvert (Carmen) of Story City; his stepsons, Michael Sweet (Brenda), David Sweet (Peggy) and Scott Sweet (Kelly); his sister Billie Pevestorf of Jefferson; and his grandchildren, Ryan, Kelsey, Barry, Samantha, Zachary, Hayley and Elizabeth. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home (1205 S Main St, Charles City, IA 50616). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Jefferson Cemetery (1019 E Lincoln Way, Jefferson, IA 50129).
