With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Balkenende (Charles City, Iowa), born in Marble Rock, Iowa, who passed away on February 17, 2019 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Balkenende and Christine Balkenende (Weiss); his wife Nadine Johnson; his son Richard; his grandchildren, Meadow, Tate, Clara, Addie and Jacob; his sons, Rick (Courtney) and Brian (Erin); his siblings, Jane Dutcher, Judy, Bob (Betty), Jack (Jane), Nancy Guthart (Raymond), Sandra Sanford (Jim), Tom (Rhonda) and Don (Annette); his son Michael; his brother Dick; his brother-in-law Jerry Dutcher; and his pet Ginger. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews.
