Douglas Saunders Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Douglas Saunders of Charles City, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 13, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Junior Saunders and Gladys Saunders (Petersen); his parents-in-law, Harold and Helen Stephens; his brother-in-law Richard Groff; and his great-nephew Cameron Broderick.
He is survived by: his wife Jan Saunders; his children, Julie Sindlinger (Mark) and Kevin Saunders (Audra); his grandchildren, Jessie Schultz (Landon), Jamie Sindlinger and Jodie Sindlinger; his great grandchild Sawyer Schultz; his sister Cindy Groff; and his siblings-in-law, Jerry Stephens (Kathy) and Joyce Kirkendall (Chuck).
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be given to Trinity United Methodist Church, the Charles City Elks Lodge #418 or the Charles City Lions Club in Doug's honor.
