He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Wheat and Pearl Wheat (Metz); his wife Linda L. Swartzrock; and his sisters, Dorothy and Mary.
He is survived by: his sons, Heating, James Wheat (Lisa) of Glenwood and Mike Wheat (Susie) of Smithland, Iowa; his siblings, Duane Wheat (Jan) of Bremerton, Robert Wheat (Shirley) of Aurora, Kenneth Wheat of Greene, Iowa and Shirley Huskins of Oregon City, Oregon; his grandchildren, Kyle Wheat (Ashley), Zach Wheat (Katie), Alisha Lanning (Nick), Nathan Wheat and Lacey Wheat; and his sister-in-law Kay Uetz (Richard) of Charles City. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent in Don's name to Heartland Community Baptist Church to be used for mission trips.
