She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Freiberg and Josephine Freiberg (Ryan); her husbands, Robert W. Kernes, Roger Ferch and James A. Duffield; her sons, Robert A. Kernes and Patrick Kernes; her grandson Scott Kernes; and her sisters, Joan Schneider, Patricia Bunston, Mavis Kilby and Maxine Pattschull.
She is survived by: her children, Timothy Kernes (Kim), Laurie Pederson (Tim Betts) and Kathleen Wray (Douglas Propst); her grandchildren, Matthew Moorehead, Ashley Parker, Michael Jurgensen, Paul Jurgensen, Chad Jurgensen, Erica Kernes, Angela Savala and Steven Kernes; and her brother Bill Freiberg.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be directed to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City.
