He was predeceased by: his parents, George Steinbach and Katherine Steinbach; his son Scot Steinbach; and his siblings, Larry Steinbach, Rosemary Evans, Cecilia Farrell and Jim Steinbach.

He is survived by: his wife Kay Steinbach; his sons, Nick Steinbach (Kathy), Mike Steinbach (Kathy) and Joe Steinbach (Shelly); his grandson Aaron Steinbach (Allie); his great grandchildren, George and Jack; his granddaughter Annie Steinbach; his great grandchildren, Avery and Lucy; his grandchild Hally Gass (Steve); his great grandchildren, Casen, Rylan, Brody and Blake; and also, Kaden and Jackson Hayes. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Memorials may be made in Leo's name to the Chariton Volunteer Fire Department, Pin Oak Marsh, or Lucas County Health Center.
