It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jim Garrett of Chariton, Iowa, who passed away on December 9, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Oran Garrett and Abbye Garrett; his sister Linda Reed; and his brother-in-law Nichols. He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Retherford; his children, Mary Erickson, Mike Garrett (Jill) and Susie Long (John); his grandchildren, Robbie Patterson (Jennifer), Josh Bruce (Lauren), Ben Garrett, Sara Pickerell, Kirk Storm (Jodi) and Jamie Storm (Keara); and his great grandchildren, Madelyn Patterson, Garrett Patterson, Conner Pickerell, Ty Pickerell, Hadley Pickerell, Abby Cain (Aaron), Emma Storm, Ashley Abbas (Levi), Kelsey Storm, Summer Cain and Emmett Abbas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Lucas County Fair Association to help improve the fairgrounds.
