He was predeceased by: his parents, Ronald "Bus" Burgett and Martha Burgett; his grandson Joey Smith; and his great grandchild Camden Williams. He is survived by: his wife Betty Burgett; his children, Connie Gwinn (Gene), Don Burgett (Janet), Bonnie Smith (Bruce), Lonnie Gwinn (Garry) and Ron "Sam" Burgett (Noelle); his grandchildren, Carla Vanderpool (Gavin), Cami Uhlenhopp, Corey Gwinn (Jacque), Todd Burgett (Dena), Tara Sheets (Jeremy), Katie Holzworth (Victor), Amanda Lusmann (Pat), Curt Smyser (Stacy), TJ Smyser (Kenna), Katie Pace (Randy), Kelley Reece (Tracy), Casey Gwinn, Nicole Williams (Adam), Shane Burgett (Jade) and Austin Burgett (Kaitlyn); and his great grandchildren, Andrea, Teagan, Colt, Cara, Brittany, Brandon, Jake, Josie, Payton, Parker, Grayson, Reece, Hunter, Ellie, Dottie, Lexi, Brynli, Grady, Maddox, Braxton, Dexlan, Haley, Riley, Jace, Paige, Atley, Quinlynn, Ellersyn, Bexleigh, Owen, Rider, Finlee, Louie and Gracie. He is also survived by 7 great great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in Burgey's name to the Iowa State Fair Campgrounds or Mt. Zion Cemetery.
