He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Gillaspy and Beatrice "Bea" Gillaspy (Wilkins); his wife Nancy Bellon; his son Kin; his wife Karolyn "Kay" Miner; and his grandson Jeffery Chambers.

He is survived by: his children, Alan Gillaspy (Brenda), Tina Gillaspy (John Van), Tonya Chambers (Warren), Mike Bolling (Lynn), Lee Bob Bolling (Renea) and Missy Bolling; his daughter-in-law Michelle Gillaspy; his siblings, Larry Gillaspy (Linda) and Louise Krutsinger (Dwaine McCormick); and his siblings-in-law, Vic Bellon (Barb), Tom Miner (Judy), Craig Miner (Sheri), Vie Howie (Jim) and Carmen Bellon (G. W. Wilkins).
