He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Bear and Anna Bear (Peterson); his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Bear; and his sister Eleanor. He is survived by: his sons, Morris Richard Bear of Centerville and William "Billy" Bear of Centerville; his grandsons, Dustin Richard Bear of Nashville and Dane Thomas Bear of Centerville; and his brother James "Jim" Bear (Barbara) of Albuquerque.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to St. Jude Children's Hospital and may be given to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
