He was predeceased by: his parents, J. A. Gladfelder and Ruth Gladfelder (Stevens); his parents-in-law, Doris V. Lawson and Marvin Lawson; his nephew Jack McGrann; his nephew-in-law Mark Garretson; and his brother-in-law Richard Parris.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Lawson of Centerville; his children, James Wesley Gladfelder of Bloomfield and Melissa Diane Starr (Terry) of Bloomfield; his grandchildren, Tonya Springer (Zach), Justin Starr (Autumn) and Colby Starr; his great grandchildren, Austin Springer, Jamisyn Springer, Bentley Starr and Gentry Starr; his sisters, Sandra Walters (Bill) of Marshalltown and Karen Westphal (Dennis) of Marshalltown; and his parents-in-law, Junior Lawson, John Lawson, Rod Lawson, Linda Brun (Todd) and Jean Parkins.
