He was predeceased by: his parents, Fredrick "Raymond" and Geneva Swarts (Archer); his brothers, Danny Swarts, Mike Swarts and Allen Swartz; his niece Holly Swarts; and his father-in-law Bill Welch.
He is survived by: his wife Tami Welch; his daughter Laura Swarts of Moulton; his grandchildren, Theron Brummit, Freya Rudd and Mira Rudd; his sister Lanna Pike of Moline, Ill.; and his mother-in-law Janice Welch of Chariton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family.
