He was predeceased by: his parents, Orlo Ranes and Geneva Ranes (Hedgecock); his son Bart Ranes; his siblings, Bernard Ranes and Dorothy Boyd; and his close friend Jewell Bryant.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Fuqua; his daughters, Barbara Good (Larry) of Albia and Betsy Anderson (Roger) of Dallas, Texas; his grandsons, Adam Ranes of Waukee, Dan Cubit of Urbandale, Joe Cubit of Ankeny and Matt Anderson of Plano, Texas; and his great grandchildren, Ellery Ranes, Sadie Ranes, Aven Ranes, Hazel Ranes, Emma Anderson and Hannah Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to EveryStep Hospice and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
