He was predeceased by: his parents, Verland Rients and Shirley Rients (Otto). He is survived by: his former wife Melanie Sievers; his children, Elizabeth DeLarm (Joey) and Christopher Rients; his grandchildren, Emmy and Nora DeLarm; and his siblings, Randy Rients (Christina), Pamela Tuschman (Steve) and David Rients (Cleide). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
