He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Dettmann and Evalena Dettmann; and his brothers, Dale, Sheldon and Darrell.
He is survived by: his wife Karon; his children, James Dettmann (Kelly), Deborah Dettmann and Sandra Aird (David); his sister Darlene Lapthorn; his sisters-in-law, Linda Dettmann and Norma Dettmann; and his grandchildren, Breanna, Amanda, Jack, Ethan and Ember.
