He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester Schutt and Esther Schutt (Anderson); his siblings, Kenneth, Donald, Bonnie, Shirley and Betty; and his son-in-law Bill Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Knapp; and his daughters, Pam Kieper (Bob) of Woodstock, Illinois, Dixie Kassem (Moe) of Cedar Rapids and Connie Thompson of Westgate. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
